No it doesn’t. It connects wirelessly to a small USB adapter that plugs directly into the Playstation 4. As far as the 7.1 surround sound it’s really an upscaling and thus it’s all digitally done by the headphones.

I love this headset! The mics are built in so there’s no big mic that you have to deal with! I’ve been playing Division 2 with my boy and he says he can hear me great! I personally really like this headset! Hope this helps you!
