You can use it with any game and without a TV, but the none compatible for VR will simply be displayed as a mini TV in the VR headset. The full immersion for VR is compatible with VR compatible games like Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and Skyrim PSVR
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. You can play any game but only games with VR support will be immersive, where it looks like you are "inside" the game. Games without VR support just look like you are playing on a really big screen tv. You can watch 3D Bluray movies and those will look "3D" (like at the movie theater) but worn't be immersive. Search the internet for "playstation vr cinematic mode" for more information.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd recommend using Remote Play instead. You can use a PC, a vita, any Sony Smart TV or smartphone with the capability. Smartphones will require a bit of fudgery if you don't have a Sony device that supports the application natively.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sort of. You will only be able to experience VR-specific games in VR. With all other applications and non-VR games, you can view them in something called "cinematic mode." Basically, in cinematic mode, you're in a black space with a large screen in front of you. Whatever you're playing or watching is displayed on the large screen, and will be in a lower resolution than how you'd normally view it without the headset. The screen can be resized to the presets of small, medium, or large.
