It is not possible to operate the Sony SRF-M37W portable radio off AC power. According to the operating instructions, this unit can only be powered by one AAA battery. I recommend that either Energizer Max or Duracell batteries be used for maximum audio performance and battery life.

There is no definitive answer as to the actual length of time that the battery will last. The battery specifications provided by Sony in the user manual are only approximate, are only offered under perfect factory operating conditions, and are only accurate if you use a Sony branded (LR03 or R03) AAA alkaline or zinc chloride battery. Best Buy does not sell that particular Sony battery. Your Sony Walkman will have different battery life results because it is not likely to be used exclusively at the Sony factory.
