• A:Answer Hi Jambo, Thank you so much for your inquiry regarding our Digital Voice Recorder. The Sony ICD-UX570 digital voice recorder does not have the functionality to go back and insert or record over a previously recorded segment. Once you have recorded audio, it is not possible to erase a specific sentence and record over it directly. Instead, you will need to create a new recording or delete the entire file and start from scratch. Sony's current digital voice recorders, does not offers this capability. The Sony ICD-PX370 voice recorder can be powered using two AAA batteries, which are inserted into the battery compartment. Additionally, it contains a USB connector compartment that allows you to connect the recorder to a computer using a USB cord for data transfer. However, the USB slot does not serve as a charging port for the recorder's batteries. Therefore, you can't charge the recorder using a USB cord; it operates only with AAA batteries. But, our model ICD-UX570 offers the option to connect the USB connector to an USB AC adaptor to charge it. Best regards, - Stephanie

• A:Answer I can suggest what to do: Download the audio to a computer that has an app or program to convert audio to text. I am not well versed enough to know specifics about particular apps/programs -- I've just heard they exist. Even if you can't convert it to text, copy the audio files onto your computer. Then you can email them. But before you make the audio tapes, find out your email service's file size limits. I've emailed half-hour-long audio files via Gmail with no trouble. But if they get around an hour, you might exceed the email service's file limit. The recorder allows you to split recordings if you must, but why bother doing that when you can just stop and start a new file after a half hour or so.

• A:Answer Yes, it can, fortunately. In the past I've kept track of football plays with a recorder that can be paused. Just allow for the likelihood that you will lose a syllable before and after each time you pause and resume recording. You need that moment of silence when you play it back or it will all run together and you won't be able to tell where you paused. Make sure and look for this feature when shopping -- my Olympus does not have pause and I sure wish that it did.
