• A:Answer Great question. I would take at least 3. They might not last 6-8 hours but for something like that I would buy a portable Battery charger and charge the ones you are not using while you keep shooting. I’ve done this in the past and it’s worked pretty good.

Q: QuestionI bought this battery today and nowhere in the instructions does it say that it has to be charged first. Why not? I wanted to use it right away and could not!!! Very disappointing, and also disappointing with the BestBuy staff that did not know.

Using them before they are fully charged can reduce the usable battery life and in rare instances cause the battery to fail prematurely. The initial charge time can take several hours, so plan ahead. When purchasing a new camera always read the User's Guide on Instructions for Setting Up Camera before use.
