I finally tore into my subwoofer to find out what the problem is. It started with just intermittent connection issues, flashing red like yours, eventually escalating to powering off at random. Odds are, if you can't reconnect reliably, your speaker itself is going bad. The only visible sign of an issue mine had were brown singe marks on the negative speaker terminal, which was poorly connected to the wiring (it simply fell off the terminal with no effort when I pulled the speaker to check it.) Quality control seems to be poor on this subwoofer, since both of the ones I ordered suffered the exact same failure, and you can't self service it without voiding the warranty, because the front panel is glued on. Included pictures of the internals, and the subwoofer speaker terminal that seems to be the issue. Tossed mine in the trash after identifying the problem, as I clearly wont get any refund after tearing it down like this, but I needed to know what was the issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi D, We're sorry to hear that your subwoofer has stopped working. This is definitely not the news that we would like to hear. If the power indicator on the subwoofer flashes in red, it indicates that the subwoofer has lost its connection to your Sony Home theater system / Soundbar. To isolate and resolve this issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps below: -Press power of the subwoofer to turn off the power and check whether the ventilation holes of the subwoofer is blocked or not. -Move the subwoofer to a location near a compatible model so that the power indicator on the subwoofer lights in green. -Check the wireless connection status. For details, refer to the Operating Instructions supplied with a compatible model. If you're unable to resolve the issue, please contact us. Unfortunately, due to the current Bestbuy phishing protocol for your protection, we cannot provide a direct email or phone number for customer support as of now. Please find Sony Electronics' Support information: Go to our support website > click on “Support” > scroll down click on “Contact Support” > click on [Product Type] and from there you'll see different ways to reach us.
