“Is there a special optical cable i need to hook the unit up to my television? I have a pretty new vizio thatbhas hdmi, usb, and standard av inputs. Not sure what i need to get it to work.”

The Sony Shake-X10 has no optical cable connection. To connect a TV, you may need to purchase a audio cable. So ... No need for some type of special optical cable. Hope this helps.
