• If you have the lights on it will not last 24 hrs, with the lights off it should with no issue. Also when purchasing there were a few battery life options if you didnt select the 24hr battery life you may not have received the one with a 24 hr battery life

• Your unit may be defective or got hot on the beach. If you want to know, time it in a cool environment. Mine lasts 24 hours at a realistic volume. Full volume is almost obnoxious. I don't think the claim that it lasts 24 hours assumes anyone would listen to it at full, explosive volume for an entire day. Helleure :)
