“Are the lights always on during use or is there option to shut them off while listening to music?”

YES, THERE IS A SETTING IN THE BACK TO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF. I'M GLAD BECAUSE THOSE LIGHTS WOULD HAVE DRIVEN ME NUTS.

Hi Lights, Thanks for your inquiry. Great news! You have the option to turn on or off the speaker lights. Press and hold the BATT (battery)/LIGHT button behind the cap on the rear side of the speaker for about 3 seconds until the lighting function turns off/on. You can also use the Sony Music Center app to turn it on/off. The SRS-XB33 combines a tough, durable design with long battery life, deep bass sound, and flashing lights.
