Typically with most recent electronic devices there's an automatic setting between a consistent charge and a trickle charge. When a device typically reaches 100% it switches to a lower amperage so that it won't harm the battery as much. Batteries will degrade over time whether you're using them or not. I've had mine for over a year and have gone in-between using it in my garage (plugged in) to my back patio (on battery). The longest i've used it so far on battery is 4 hours, but i've never used it to failure. TLDR: with advanced electronics like this speaker, keeping it plugged in won't harm the battery
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.@Brett, A unit that is in use can be charged if it is connected to an AC outlet via a USB AC adaptor (commercially available). In this case, it may take longer to charge the built-in battery depending on the conditions of use. Therefore, it is recommended to turn off the speaker when charging. ~Earl
