- Answer No, you can attach any source of your choice. You will need to connect it to the tv to see the on-screen display in order to calibrate the speakers, after that you can disconnect it from the TV.

- Answer Connect TV HDMI output to HDMI ARC input of receiver and FireWire to another HDMI input. HDMI ARC input basically provides Video output from other channels like connected FieWire , etc to TV when those channels selected on the receiver. When ARC channel is selected only audio from TV is returned to the receiver. So that you can watch TV, FireWire or other AV sources video on the TV and audio on receiver and optionally on TV

- Answer It comes with wireless remote. You should be able to control by keeping the unit inside a cabinet with IR remote extension. IR extension will not come with the unit.
