Try connecting to your tv first to seem if you are getting any picture and sound. If so, you could then run a second cable from the Sony player for audio to your receiver. Your receiver may not be passing the higher quality signal of the player due to a handshake issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A ran into this problem with an older bluray and my ancient Sony ES reciever. I could decode the DVD's signals via optical and component cables. As soon as i upgraded to a bluray player, so much info was coming in, the signal could not be used, as the processer couldn't handle it. I even tried to turn down the rate and 48k to 24k , and still nothing.
