“How does standby mode work? Manual says power button turns on the player, or sets to standby mode but it never seems to get to standby mode. The power button either turns on the player (green light) or turns off (no light). How does it set to standby?”

• You will have to go in to the setting of the player and change the following. [Quick Start Mode] [On]: Shortens the startup time when turning on the player. [Off] : Reduces standby power consumption. Hope this helps.

• I think it depends if you have quick start (or what ever it’s called on). Off basically is standby.

• I believe the status which has no light showing is "standby;" SONY doesn't call it "off."
