Don't forget to set your UBP-X800 player's screen settings to output video resolution to 4K. As I recall the factory default is 1080P. Double-check that the HDR setting is in AUTO. I think Audioquest produces more than one HDMI cable. Make sure the one you have is HDMI 2.0, or at least supports 18 Gbps throughput. Your Samsung 8000 SUHD TV is a data hog. It needs a high performance (18 Gbps) HDMI cable to feed it. Just FYI, Monster's Black Platinum HDMI cables with lights provide you with a blue LED on the TV's connector to let you know that the player is streaming at bit rates required for 4K HDR TV's. Best Buy now sells these new Monster Black Platinum HDMI cables with lights. You should expect excellent picture quality with your Sony UBP-X800 and a UltraHD 4K HDR TV. BTW, Best Buy's Magnolia group will give you free set-up assistance with the UBP-X800 to any TV. Of course, this assumes you bought your player there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try selecting Picture Mode: MOVIE, which should provide best overall settings. Under Advanced Settings, check to make sure Dynamic Contrast is turned OFF. Dynamic Contrast may be your real problem, as it seems to produce very dark images, especially for UHD content.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would take a look at your tv's video settings and see if you can make some changes to improve the image. Most likely that is where your problem lies.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had my TV calibrated by Best Buy and it made a big difference. I also found that my TV uses separate display settings on the same input . So when I play a standard blu-ray it uses one setting and when I played a 4K blu-ray, it defaulted to a different setting. That default setting for 4K was terrible and as so bright it hurt my eyes. I had to change it to use the proper settings. After that, the 4K movies looked good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure if it would help but try using the AUTO 2 4K feature. By default, it is set to AUTO 1 for Sony equipment (I think they assume you have a Sony TV). Also, if I read it correctly the AUTO 2 option will also upscale NON 4K movies to near 4K quality. I too am using the Audioquest calbe (Cinnamon for me) and my picture looks amazing. Hope this helps
