I have both and the Sony plays UHD HDR discs with much better quality. The Sony also upscales regular Bluray discs much better than XB1S.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you already have a gaming console, than I would go with the latest, full function Blu-ray player. You can do as I did, and go to the Sony website and check out their player there. I waited some time for them to release the UBP-X800, because of all the different formats it can play. I compared it with Panasonic's latest player, and chose the Sony. Lastly, I'd say, just compare the features of the One S and the UBP-X800, and see which one has the most features you like. ;-)
