• Well, the UBP-X800 does support Dolby 5.1 surround sound, like every other BD player. Sony buries this fact in their marketing documents for the UBP-X800 as Dolby Digital (.ac3, .mka) which is the ancient standard for Dolby surround sound. Literally, there is no audio format that this player doesn't support. It does all audio formats transparently.

• Yes it does, every sound option is covered with this player. DVD playback is done very well.
