• No, the UBP-X800 has a built-in ON/OFF switch. It is meant to be used a lot. Cutting power at the surge protector has no abnormal affect on the built-in ON/OFF switch. You will likely have to push the mechanical ON/OFF on the front of the player or use the remote to power on the player after you switch the surge protector on. BTW, why do you turn the surge protector off between uses? Does your electric utility company guarantee perfect electrical line conditions 100% of the time? The surge protector doesn't provide protection from the mains when it's OFF.
