Not necessarily. Not all 4K HDMI cables are the same. Not all HDMI cables support the new HDMI 2.0b standard. This standard requires wire that supports high data rate or 18 Gbps throughput. Some 4K UltraHD HDMI cables say they are 4K compliant, but only support 6 Gbps. In most cases this will work. However, if you should experience reduced resolution, A/V cutout, or other artifact, then you should upgrade to the 18 Gbps HDMI cables. This will likely solve your problem. Nowadays, high speed HDMI cable is cheap and effective (and can be ultra thin also) like the Monoprice cables. Best Buy can provide you with Monster Black Platinum HDMI with lights cable at a hefty price and weight. They aren't very flexible, but they do have an LED light to indicate the throughput of the cables (SD, HD, 4K). This will insure you are getting the maximum throughput by looking at the TV connector on the cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend you try the CERTIFIED HDMI 2.0 18 GBPS HDR cables. The difference will WOW ! you. Although, the others will work, you will not be able to take advantage of all of the features of the Sony 4k HDR X800, especially if you have 3D blu rays, etc.
