Why does the Sony 4 K Blu Ray Need Updates it was Working just fine the other day ? Some titles will not play without the necessary update. This unit has both wired ethernet and wireless WiFi connectivity to facilitate these updates. You can also update the unit's firmware via the internet as well. The unit will play any Region A Blu-Ray or Region 1 DVD / DVD-R. It will also play music CDs, and 4K UHD titles with or without HDR. Download Sony's specification sheet to get a complete list of all compatible playable media formats. If this is your first purchase, this unit has great performance for a reasonable price. I highly recommend it.
