- Answer If you're looking to record from the player, you can't. Cable DVRs record cable programming... not video in the traditional sense. If you're looking just to play both on the TV, the TV should have multiple inputs to accommodate multiple devices. If not, you can purchase an external switch, usually expensive & complicated.

Questioni converted old vhs tapes to dvd. my older dvd player wont recognize the burned dvds. will this player work with burned dvds?

- Answer It should work with one exception. I did the same thing and mine would not work. I found that when creating DVDs for playback on anything other then a computer, make sure that the burn speed is set to 4X. It takes a bit longer to burn but if you use a faster burning speed the DVD may not work. I found this out by trial and error. I re-burned my DVDs at the lower speed and they worked fine. I hope this helps.
