A:AnswerIf you can run a single HDMI cable from player to sound system, yes. If you must use fiber optic audio cable going in to your audio system, You will have to purchase a converter and run the digital audio port and digital audio cable to the converter and fiber optical cable to your box/soundbar. Mine works fine with a single good quality HDMI cable from player to subwoofer/soundbar and then to the TV. I run my apple TV into the subwoofer as well - hdmi cables all (predates wireless).

It really not an issue though having two remotes.
On my TV remote I use the Source button, at the top right.
Then I use the the arrow buttons for the HDMI1 or 2.
I use the Sony remote for the DVD blue ray player.
