A:AnswerHi, Steve, No. This player is not a region-free Blu-ray player. You can only play region 1 DVDs and region A Blu-ray discs with this player. -Vincent
A:AnswerNo. It does not need to be connected to the internet to play Blu-rays. Internet connection will only work to enhance the additional Blu-ray content.
A:AnswerYes, it plays DVD's, Blu-Ray's, and obviously 4K discs. I wasn't sure about the DVD's, but just placed an old DVD in there and it played it just fine. Feel free to ask more questions, I'll answer if I am able to. Enjoy this if you purchase it! It plays movies beautifly!
A:AnswerHi, quiz!
Good news! Yes, it does. You can wirelessly transmit music from the player to a Bluetooth device and listen to the music on the device. Note: This function is only supported with Bluetooth speakers or Bluetooth headphones. You cannot transmit music, etc. from a smartphone or computer and listen to it on the player. Regards, Sam
A:AnswerHi, Customer!

A:AnswerHi SCB,
Using an HDMI splitter can sometimes cause handshake issues or limit the resolution to the lowest connected display. For the best 4K HDR performance and stability, we recommend using a high-quality HDMI switch or connecting your Blu-ray player directly to the TV's HDMI port.
Thanks for choosing Sony.
Best regards,
Eliab
A:AnswerYes @ upscaling must be set-up (but not to 4k UHD) ***better sound*** upon set-up
***Note*** depending upon TV the 1080 would be upscaled to 4k
Image @ Most people won't notice 4:4:4 12bit (highest Blu-ray = half @ 4:2:0 10 bit)
Sound @ you will notice the difference immediately
______
480P > 1080 (full HD) = regular dvds & TV shows, streaming services
______
720 > 1080 (full HD 4:4:4 with 12 bit) = all Blue Ray
______
1080 > 1080 (FULL RESOLUTION 4:2:0 @ half color standard) ***BT 4:4:4 @ 12 Bit = only few Blu-ray are 1080 from the start
UHD = UPSCALE — but — from 10 but to 12 BIT
A:AnswerHello Dhiraj,
Thank you for considering Sony products!
We appreciate your question and are here to assist you. The UBP-X800M2 has two HDMI outputs: HDMI 2.0a for 4K HDR video and HDMI 1.4 for audio only. Both send signals out to your TV or audio system and cannot accept input from devices like Roku or Chromecast.
To use Roku or Chromecast, connect them to an available HDMI input on your TV and switch to that input to stream content.
