- Answer I would just go with powered speakers (also called Active speakers) these days instead of spending money on a decent receiver and speakers. I have the Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers and the turntable sounds amazing with these. (Bose no longer sells the Companion 3 - they insist that the Companion 20 are a good replacement, but the 20 series do not have a separate subwoofer and hence do not sound as loud as the Companion 3. I would just buy the Companion 3 from Amazon or something similar - you'll probably get a good deal since they're discontinued.) If you don't need the high sound quality that Bose offers, even a pair of Klipsch or high-end Logitech active speakers should sound pretty decent.

QuestionI need to know what speakers to buy so i can PLAY a record on this turntableI baught this turntable and I just want to know what speakers most people use with it. I know it needs an amp. Any suggestions for both? I am just using this turntable to PLAY music. I want to hear sound!!!!!

QuestionRecord is not recording to computerI have everything hooked up and I can hear the record playing through my sound system, but it is not recording to the computer. I have the USB cable hooked up and the red/white cords hooked to the line-in on the sound card and everything looks as if it's recording, but when I play it back I just hear static. Is something hooked into the wrong place?

- Answer Check the software help instructions. Make sure that the peak indicators prior to capture are showing the changes in audio before you start the actual capture process. I think you may have missed a step. You may have to adjust the input level in the Windows volume mixer so that peak levels aren't saturating, but are loud enough to overcome system noise.

QuestionHow can I adjust the set down position on the tonearm?

- Answer If you activate the auto start with the arm in the up position, it will stop at the beginning of the record, just need to lower it manually with the lever. Anywhere else on the record will need to be moved manually to the desired song/position and then lower the arm. The arm will lower smoothly using the lever.

- Answer Unfortunately, no since it's written for Windows. Download and install Audacity, which is a free open-source recording software. Once you install Audacity and any necessary codes, connect the USB cable to any unused USB port on your iMac and start Audacity. Go into the settings with Command-, and set the input to USB. Once you do that, the turntable will show. Now put a record on the platter, press Start, and when the stylus lands on the record, tap on the Record button in Audacity. You will also be able to hear what's being recorded.

QuestionCan I use this turntable in Europe with 60Hz?Hi there, I am going to buy a turntable as a gift for my dad, but somebody told me that and I am not sure if that is true. "The trouble with the turntables purchased in north America is not the voltage alone, but the frequency as well. You see in USA and Canada the line voltage is 110V and 50 Hertz but in Europe the Ac voltage has a frequency of 60 Hertz. There is not much you can do easily to convert 50 t0 60 frequency." - Answer He has it backwards. We use 110v/60Hz. "They" use 220v/50Hz. Roughly... But yes, it may be a problem. If your dad has a step down transformer (which he obviously needs any way to use any US mains device in Europe) that has worked well for him in the past, then he should be OK. The ones designed for 60Hz that see 50Hz may be an issue, overheating and failing. So maybe a good quality European transformer is better? Why not just get him a turntable designed for that market?

- Answer Hi Nikki, This unit supports Audio Out (red and white) ports. Any device that has Audio In(red and white) like receivers + speakers or soundbars will do. Thanks. -Joffrey

- Answer You misunderstood my question . I wish to upgrade the cartridge to an "audiophile" grade. Such as Shure or Ortofon. Will the arm accept a different cartridge?
