When you remove them from the case do they flash red? If so they need to be paired (see below). If they flash blue they've been paired previously and are attempting to connect to the device. If they don't do anything then try charging the case again. When it's charging the case has a solid red led. If that doesn't work I'd return them if still possible and if not contact Sony. Download Sonys app called Sony Headphone Connect. Once installed it will walk you through the entire setup process
