“I have a Sony XRB-5581CH tv, If I hook these up to my tv will it mute the external speakers or can I use one or the other or both at the same time?”

I have a Sony XBR43X800G TV and when I pair the earbuds with the tv, it automatically mutes the tv speakers. This is standard with Bluetooth headphones and I don’t know any way around it.
