No, these work using bluetooth for wireless connectivity, and also come with 3.5mm cable for wired connectivity. Don't know if there are headphones out there that use wifi for connectivity...but maybe they do exist.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any headphone that has RF capabilities can work inside or outside the house. They reach much further than the 30 or so feet the bluetooth connections do. They all used to be RF models. Sony has a few they sell with the RF function. It's way better and worth extra money if you want to go downstairs and cook while listening or go outside and get the mail while listening to news or whatever. Maybe he was thinking RF and mistakenly thought it was wifi.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure what you mean there. Most wireless headphones connect to devices through bluetooth. Wifi has no bearing on connectivity. These don't connect to wifi at all. If the device you are trying to connect to has bluetooth (cell phones, most laptops, some T.V's or a bluetooth adapter attached to a device) then you can use these headphones. Wifi is not in the mix here. Hope my answer helps shed some light for you.
