My 94 year old mother has hearing loss. We bought these headphones so she could listen to her television. These headphones allow her to increase or decrease the sound volume, but do not affect the sound level in the room.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi. In my particular case (Samsung smart TV) it could be adjusted independently but it all depends on the settings of your tv, I know people who have not been able to do it unless they buy another device. Also if you have connected the tv to other devices or tv boxes it can affect the independent use of sound by those who want to listen through headphones and the other person from the tv. I hope this helps.

If someone else wants to hear the tv they can turn the sound up with the remote and it does not affect the headphones.
