Do you have to connect to tv to make it work null

I have it connected to an RCA/IR Splitter…IR connected from Splitter to “Audio Out” on back of TV. Headphones connect to Splitter Mini-to-RCA

There is a base unit that also acts as a charging station for the headphones. The base is plugged into the wall outlet and your television. The headphones are wireless and very comfortable.
