Are you sure they aren’t actually on but just insanely low volume (even when cranked to 12)? That’s been my experience. I’m taking them back - the speakers are whisper quiet when you watch most things and it doesn’t seem fixable. Sorry this isn’t particularly helpful.

These compressed files have to be uncompressed and transmitted. 3) cables are also an problem... meaning the main soundbar might not be getting the best signal to perform fast enough to boardcast to the rears 4) if it's frequent, you need to eliminate whether it's the main soundbar or the speakers themselves. If you know someone who has the same soundbar... go visit them with your speakers, and play the same videos and music. This will tell you something. Double check all setting. I would "Factory" reset both the soundbar and rears. Perform all updates. Good Luck to the both of us P.S. I was NEVER able to get my LG ATMOS 2019 sound bar to work with dedicated wireless LG Rear Speakers 2020. So, prepare for a disappointment possibly.
