Should be able to that, as long as you don't trip over them. Each speaker has it's own electric outlet within about 6 feet. I placed them on top of kitchen cabinets and can detect no booming or harmonic vibrations so a sturdy wood floor should work fine.

Please try again later.It's hard to answer your question without knowing the size of your room, the furniture contents, etc. You can always place them directly onto your hardwood floors and test them out to see if the sound is pleasing. If not, just plug them into an outlet and move them to another location. Personally I tried many different areas in my home to see which location sounded the best. The good thing about these speakers is that they are small and easily movable. Trial and error is your best friend. I hope this information helps you out with your decision to purchase "class" product.
