“i just opened my XB20 and am holding down the add button but neither my laptop nor my iphone is seeing in the bluetooth area. Any ideas? Thanks”

try using the phone app first to sync up. If your pc does not have bluetooth then you wont be able to sync up. this is a bluetooth speaker not a wifi speaker
