“Can these headphones be exposed to the sun for long periods of time?”

• As with any rubber product, the direct sunlight will heat the material up to some point, but I wore these on a full day's hike and didn't notice much of a heat issue. Thanks to the non-slick rubber material, the band stayed on my shirt rather than on my skin, so that also plays a factor.
