Hi Mike, the IPX5 water-resistant rating allows the headphones to operate while being subjected to jets of water. However, we still do not recommend exposing the headphones to water for more than 3 minutes. Thanks, -Mark
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sony's documentation warns against submerging the headphones in water or subjecting them to streams of water for extended time. I have very quickly rinsed mine under gently running water without problems.
