No. Unfortunately, in US this phone will only support up to 4G LTE and not 5G on all carriers except Sprint, where this phone is not supported at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. The reason it is said to not be 5G in the US is that it supports the sub-6GHz band of 5G, whereas US carriers tend to support the mmWav high frequency band. For example, if you bought the US model and brought it with you to Europe, where sub-6GHz is more of the standard, it would connect to that 5G network. Same goes for if/when US carriers begin to also roll out more extensive sub-6GHz services. Hope this helps.

Even for the bands supported all are not available out-of-the-box. "Band 77 will be available through software update. Software rollouts are a phased process – timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator." The 5G radio is in the device. We complain to Sony & T-Mo and they could enable through software. But in reality, unless you live in specific places, 4G LTE is currently almost as fast, sometimes faster, than the 5G one will access.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.5G is technically built into the hardware, its just the US carriers do not use the bands it supports. Situations like this are why you have special variant versions of the Galaxy S20 or the LG v60 (there's the normal unlocked and then the UW on Verizon specifically). Actually, there is a lot of misinformation around the carrier support, but given that T-mobile and Sprint are officially merged, they will be running off of the same network. Long as they have LTE/GSM you'll be fine
