Yes, it is a hybrid SIM card slot meaning you can use one SIM card and one SD card or two SIM cards and no SD card.

These are dual sim phones, the spot where the SD card goes "just above the sim card" is also a sim slot, you cannot use a SD card if you use two sim cards.

I have the full size xperia xz2 and yes it has dual sim capabilities. One of the pull outs is for a sim and a micro SD(up to 400 gb micro sd) and the other is just for a sim.

If you look closely under memory sd card slot there is a lil space for the 2nd sim card that goes upside down

The 2nd sim can be placed in the micro SD card slot, it is actually pictured in the manual, also you can google it
