A:AnswerYes they work independently. It will actually create 2 separate devices in your Bluetooth list. One for L and one for the pair. If you use both or just the right it will sync as the pair to your phone. If you just use left I will sync as the left. If your using right then decide to also use the left afterwards they sync together and then both to your phone and do so usually pretty quick.
