“I purchased a Presidio2 Grip (Model # 141712-D143) in October under the impression that it was MagSafe-friendly, which it was not. Is the only difference between that and this one that it is now officially MagSafe compatible?”

• I am assuming so because mine you can use a mag charger and I have done so.
