A:Answer I've never experienced the problem you cite with any HP laptop or notebook -- and I've had four during the last 12-15 years. In particular, I do not have the problem with my newly purchased Spectre, which I too bought "open box." I could not be happier with the new machine. If you're experiencing difficulties with the one you purchased, I would return it and replace it with another machine. I bought "open box" the same machine I liked on display; you might try this too to lower risk of getting something you don't like and/or one that is defective. Good luck.
