Square allows manual entry if the card isn't present. Note: there's a higher processing fee and you could be liable for certain types of fraud by not using a chip card reader.

The percentages Square charges are as follows: 2.75% per swipe, dip or tap and 3.5% + $0.15 USD per virtual terminal or keyed-in transaction. In other words, you pay a bit more if you key in the numbers.
