Yes. If card has magnetic strip, Square can read it. They have a new Square reader, more expensive, that takes chip cards, but I just haven't had any problems with chipped cards using the cheap version.

If your chip reader is within range it will require you to use the chip reader. If you don't have a chip reader any kind of card can be used with this magatrip reader.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've never had a problem processing a card on it. But I haven't paid attention as to whether or not they had a chip. They do make a reader that is designed specifically for chip readers and strips as well.
