A:AnswerHi, Arthur! The answer below is correct. It is portable and the customer's first name appears on the receipt in most cases unless their credit card company has chosen not to display that information for their clients.
A:AnswerHey, Lee. Thanks for asking. The answer below is correct - you an manually accept credit card payments. The fees for accepting these types of payments are 3.5% + 15¢.
A:AnswerYou can take credit card payments via the Virtual Terminal on your laptop and you can also run the Square Point of Sale app on an Android, so you should not need to purchase an iPad. Make sure your Android device is compatible with our readers here: squareup.com/compatibility.
The Square Terminal itself is a stand alone device and does not need to be paired to a laptop or a phone to work, but will need a wifi connection.
A:AnswerYou pay at the end of each transaction so when transaction is complete, you also have the option to add the fee to the buyer, as long as you let them know of course! I kept a sign up.
A:AnswerThe Square Terminal is compatible with all printer-driven cash drawers from Star Micronics, APD and Heckler Design. For a full list of compatible cash drawers, visit our compatibility page here: https://squ.re/3QQyjYf
A:AnswerWe have at&t for our phone service and we haven't had an issue with the mobile hotspot, only if you walk away with the connected phone, it'll drop. But other than that it works well. I would say the hotspot speed probably would drop quite a bit if you have 4 terminals connected to one, but also depends on the speed/GB of the hotspot (im guessing)
A:AnswerGreat question! The battery on the Square Terminal lasts all-day, should it have a full charge. The reader also goes to sleep after 2 hours of inactivity to help preserve the battery.
When it comes to a portable charger that fits the reader, your more than welcome to use it. However, we can't guarantee it will work.
A:AnswerTerminal is a self-contained device running our app for Android. It won't connect to an iPhone - it's an alternative to using an iPhone with a bluetooth Card Reader :)
