“How do we get access to the game 5 days early if it doesn't ship until the 6th? Do we get some sort of email?”

I asked Best Buy customer service and they said an email with the codes for the digital content (which should include early access) will go out on September 1.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's not the full game. It's DLC and Early Access. It should be treated like that and like any DLc email it a week or few days before the game releases. At this point bestbuy is a joke.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For early access, you will need to have either Game Pass or a digital version of the base game from Best Buy (and this Upgrade Steelbook). On 9/1 the Upgrade code will unlock early access as long as you have either of the two versions mentioned. Early Access will not happen if you bought the Standard Disc because that does not get released until 9/6.

I had a hunch that something might go wrong because best buy pre-orders have a bad track record imo. I decided to just pre-order this directly through Microsoft on my Xbox instead. Glad I did.
