• None at all. I've been using this hub for months. Continuously connecting and disconnecting drives. I haven't had any problems with data loss or connection issues. This is a well made, solid hub. Worth buying.

• I've not had any issues with devices staying connected. I use it frequently.

• I haven't tried that. I always use direct connections between external storage devices and my PC. I'm not saying it won't work using the Hub, I just think it's too risky.
