• It is not a mechanical key set up however it doesn't have long key strokes either. Think of it more like a happy medium with super silent keys that make almost no noise. It is not as sensitive as a mechanical keyboard if that's what your after

• SteelSeries Whisper-Quiet Switches, rated for 20 Million keystrokes. They seem solid and good response. Keycaps can come off. No need for dampeners.
