There is a different chip in the Xbox version that isn't in the ps5/pc one, i believe that is the difference.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it is because if you buy the Xbox version it is comparable with everything even the PS5. I think it had to do with something with Microsoft and having special rights for headset. So steelseries gets the right and markets it for Xbox but it can be used for PS5. But the PS5 version from my understanding does not work with Xbox I cannot confirm that yet.

The store manager told me that the PS4/PS5 model uses an older version of the Geek Squad protection plan ($69/2 years). However, for the Xbox/PC model of the headset, it has the newer Geek Squad protection plan ($129/2 years). This was done as they are realigning and updating their Geek Squad protection plans to follow their annual Total Tech Support (TTS) membership. Regretfully, there is no way to get the $129 price matched to $69). So, in the end, I ended up buying the annual Total Tech Support membership as it cost $70 more now, but it meant that the protection plan for the headset and all future purchases would be free! Definitely worth purchasing the annual membership, in my opinion, given the high cost of this one protection plan.
