It will only identify a leak
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a sensor that fits over your service line just after the line enters the home. Therefore it senses unusual movement of water (once it learns your routines) entering your home. It does not tell you where the water is either leaking or running. I know there are other versions of sensors out there that will give you more localized sensing, but those come at a higher cost! I will say, that I hoped it could sense very minute continual water movement as we have a recirculating line that has sprung pin hole leaks half a dozen times over the last 20 years. We had another one recently and it was a small enough amount of water that it did not pick it up as I hoped it would. It will alert you, however, if it is amount like a faucet that is turned on so in the case of pipe failure due to freeze or fatigue, I am happy to have it as a emergency alert!
