“I am on well and septic . Does this work for leak detection as I have well equipment , tanks aerator tank etc. and the system does clean itself at least once a day using more water ? how will it differentiate between a leak and a cleaning ?”

It measures water flow through a pipe, whether it comes from a well or other source. It sits on the outside of an existing pipe, so no cleaning is required for it.
