Our U-verse receiver was way too big to fit inside the weatherproof box. Plus we couldn’t “hide” it behind the tv bc then the U-verse IR remote wouldn’t work. (Keep that in mind if you follow the Sunbrite team’s advisement to store the box inside-how will you change channels?) We’ve only had to replace the U-verse unit once over the span of owning this for 5 years. Not too bad when it’s exposed to atlanta metro weather.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Romi, SunBrite TVs have large, weatherproof media compartments in the back, with thick weatherproof gaskets. These gaskets allow cable connections to be made while still maintaining a weatherproof seal where the cable exits the TV. So there are a few options for signal from your receiver: #1 is for the receiver to be inside the house (or weatherproof area) and the signal cable (HDMI or other) brings the signal outside. #2 is if the receiver fits in the media compartment, that may be an option as well. Many popular streaming media players also fit in the weatherproof media bay. Also, feel free to give us a call at 866-357-8677 or email us at [email protected] with any further questions. Happy outdoor living!
