I would like to say no since a Sony a6000 is not a DSLR and HDSLR camera. A Sony A6000 is classified as a Mirrorless camera. My camera is a Canon Ti7 and it works fine. I think this DF4000N was originally made for Nikon and Canon DSLR and HDSLR cameras. If this model was made specifically to a Sony camera the Serial number would have an S after a tack example...DF4000U-S OR DF4000U-NC. I apologize for not being able to test this universal adapter with your camera. I also did a little bit of research and Fry's sells a camera shoe adapter. One of the buyers gave it a one star review since they were not confident in the products ability since it does not click to the camera like normal add-ons. I am guessing that you could get this adapter from Fry's and try this actual DF4000N.
