“My modem and router is in a closet located in the center of my home. If I put the DVR in the closet with the modem and router will I be able to control and see the unit thru the Wi Fi ? Or will I have to plug in a laptop every time ?”

• Mine is also in a "closet". My friend helped set it up. I just pull up the app on my phone and view cameras that way. Hope this helps!

• Yes if the DVR has internet access you should be able to view them on your phone/laptop/tablet. You may need to do some port forwarding on your router if you want to access them on a network other than the one the DVR is on.
